Two close associates of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Shantanu Banerjee, Nilay Malik and Supratim Ghosh, who were arrested in a teacher recruitment corruption case, have been summoned for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the second time. The two individuals were initially questioned on Wednesday.
Malik, the former General Secretary of Supratim Girat College, is the director of Banerjee's company. According to ED sources, both Malik and Ghosh have been asked to provide a range of documents related to the case.
Banerjee, who was also arrested in connection with the case, appeared at the Salt Lake ED office on Monday morning. The ongoing investigation is focused on allegations of corruption in the recruitment of teachers.
